Richard Greenberg
Supervising Investigative Producer
NBC News

NYU News & Doc is proud to welcome Richard Greenberg of NBC News to our next Master Class, today at 4:00 pm, 20 Cooper Square.

Richard Greenberg specializes in investigative reporting, primarily on security issues, terrorism, organized crime, and human rights. This year, he produced a one-hour documentary for NBC about life in Iran for which he gained unprecedented access to that country; he also produced the first interview with Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad after the controversial June 2009 election. Other recent work included programs on: the attempted bombing of Northwest flight 253 on Christmas Day; the origins of the financial crisis; an investigation into the 2006 UK-based terrorism plot to blow up transatlantic flights with liquid explosives; and an undercover investigation into the fraudulent passport trade. His 2004 Dateline report on child sex trafficking in Cambodia received two Emmy awards. Prior to joining NBC, Greenberg was a producer with CBS 60 Minutes and ABC News. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Yale and graduate degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Geneva.
