On November 11, two NewsDoc alumni, Kris Brant and Ruohan Xu, screened their films at DOC NYC.
The screening began with Kris’s Open Season, a documentary set in Florida and focused on the importance of removing Lion fish from the local reefs. It ended with Ruohan’s Dai’s Garden, which focused on the need for a shift from processed foods to organic foods, and how the shift benefits the local community.
The screening was followed by a Q & A, where the film makers focused on topics such as voice overs and choosing the topic.
News & Documentary is a Master's-level broadcast and documentary journalism track, at NYU's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. Graduates work around the world for top media organizations and on award-winning films.
